This image was taken back in August 2023 on the night of the Perseids Meteor Shower in Utersum (Island Föhr/Germany).

It is a vertical composition of 4 images. Therefore i used the Sony Alpha 6600 with a 16mm lens. The lens flare of my friend and me is a result of flashlights holding in the air.

Only in August you get the chance to shoot the Milky Way in such brilliance like this at the North Sea in Germany. You need a clear, dark night with no moonlight, city light polution and other light sources around you. Also, the clouds of the Milky Way can only be seen in the late summer months in Germany. Best of all, in this time, you will also have the Perseids, one of the biggest meteor showers to watch.
Every year again, i try to make this kind of picture. And every year again you learn more, to make better ones, and you also see your own mistakes (again). So here is an older one from 2017 with much less experience and a Sony Alpha 6000 and an 24mm lens.
...and at least here is another one from this August night. The Perseid shower was at its peak and the bright milky dot is the Andromeda Galaxy.
